CHICAGO– Jason Segel is one of the most genuine people in show business, and he also makes very funny movies and TV shows. He was in Chicagoland recently, making an appearance on behalf of his first novel, “Nightmares.” He greeted admirers and signed the book at the historic Tivoli Theatre in Downers Grove, Ill.
After making his film debut in 1998 in “Can’t Hardly Wait,” Jason Segel got his first hit with “Freaks and Geeks,” the legendary one season series in 1999 that combined an amazing cast (James Franco, Seth Rogen) with memorable episodes. Segel has since done two other multi-season series, including “Undeclared” and “How I Met Your Mother.” At the same time, he was no slouch at the film box office, with a long list of hits starting with “Knocked Up,” “Forgetting Sarah Marshall” and “I Love You, Man.” He recently rebooted a major franchise with “The Muppets.” and scored with “The Five-Year Engagement.” His first novel “Nightmares” – co-written with Kristen Miller – is the latest addition to the young adult fiction phenomenon.
